A new Aldi store will be opening in Nottinghamshire creating 25 new jobs, despite two stores already less than 3 miles away.

The new store opens its doors on May 25 and will be based on the retail park next to B&Q, on Mansfield Road, in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Advertising for the new super store is up at the location, and it will be one of 70 new stores opening nationally this year.

There are already several of the chain’s stores nearby, one is a mere two and a half miles away in Nottingham Road, whilst the other is closer by at one and a half miles away in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

This will be the 17th store in Nottinghamshire.

The rising supermarket giant will bring 25 both full time and part time jobs to the area.

Victoria North, area manager at Aldi Mansfield Road, said: “We are getting ready to open our new store in May and are looking forward to getting to know our local customers.

“One of the most exciting things about a new store opening is surprising people that haven’t shopped at Aldi before with the quality and low prices of our award-winning products.”

The German-origin store is opening just metres away from Morrisons.

Morrisons declined to comment on the new store opening close by to them.
