A new appeal has been launched by police following two Post Office robberies in Mansfield Woodhouse.

The investigation comes after officers were called to an attempted robbery in Station Street at 11:50am on Monday, April 24, and a similar alleged crime in Brown Avenue at 11.30am on Monday, April 24.

Three men, who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, have been released.

Detectives are treating the two incidents as linked, and believe that a black Peugeot 207 S which was stolen in the local area was used in both instances

The investigation is ongoing and Nottinghamshire Police have sent officers on patrol in the surrounding area to reassure the public.

DS Ricci Skelton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Inquiries made so far show that there were a number of members of the public present at both scenes who were potentially photographing or recording the incidents. We would like these to come forward.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information about either of the incidents to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident numbers 259 of Monday 24 April 2017 and 306 of Saturday 22 April 2017, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
