Part of a £5 million project will leave the intu Victoria Centre car park closed for up to five weeks.
The car park enterance project started on Tuesday, May 8.
The two year redevelopment began earlier this year aiming to make the 2,500 spaced, multi-storey car park “lighter, brighter and more user-friendly”.
The next phase is for the car park to be resurfaced and will include new charging ports for electric vehicles.
This follows a £40 million refurbishment at the Victoria Centre which was completed in 2015.
General manager for intu in Nottingham, Nigel Wheatley, said: “The car park will still be accessible from York Street but the redirection from the Glasshouse street entrance are expected to congest the surrounding roads.
“We know that many customers use the Glasshouse Street car park entrance for the John Lewis click and collect service and during this time, dedicated parking will be available in the red zone accessible via York Street.
“Our stores remain open as usual.”
