It’s that time of year again when the ice cream vans are out in full force, sizzling barbecues are being lit and the sunglasses finally make an appearance.
As the May Bank holiday arrives, this week’s warm weather may get you thinking about the beach.
Well, look no further because Nottingham’s urban beach returns to Market Square this summer and will be open for 51 days from Saturday July 14 until Sunday September 2, 2018.
Everyone can enjoy the delights of a beach resort without having to leave the comfort of the city centre, as it is transformed into a beach location.
We took to Twitter to find out what people wanted to see at the beach this year, here’s some of your suggestions.
Zac efron …preferably topless 😊

Veggie/vegan food, my business having its own stall, no smoking, a paddling pool (the fountains put my anxiety through the roof!)

A magnum van, preferably one where you can make your own 😍

The beach has been an annual event in Nottingham for the last decade.
Regular entertainment which is free performances from DJ’s, live acts, and local bands – which can all be enjoyed at the comfort of a deckchair.
You can also grab a bite to eat and a drink to sip at the various beach bars on the site, last year this included Caribbean style beach bar.
Main attractions this year include a paddling pool, funfair rides and special events.
The beach, run jointly by Mellors Group Events and Nottingham City Council, is open from 10am to 11pm, 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
