A teenager who appeared at magistrates court over his alleged involvement in a stabbing outside Pryzm nightclub has had his case sent to the crown court.
Judah Chilink, 18, of Ryehill Close, The Meadows, faced a short hearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court and was charged with five counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of possession of a bladed article over an incident on Lower Parliament street in the early hours of May 6.
The case was sent to Nottingham Crown Court due to the seriousness of the charges.
He is due to appear on June 5.
Presiding JP Larissa Parkinson said: “The offences are so serious that they must go to the Crown Court.”
Prosecutor Sanjay Jareth said: “I am not going into detail as I am aware that there are family members of people involved.”
Mr Jareth requested for Chilink to be dealt with in Nottingham Crown Court.
Defence lawyer Parminder Samrai did not apply for bail, and Chilink was remanded in custody to appear in Nottingham Crown Court.
The defendant did not enter a plea.
The case continues.
