A Nottingham landmark has made an appeal for volunteers to help cultivate the county’s designated flower.
Nottingham Castle Trust wants green-fingered city residents to assist them in germinating, nurturing and safekeeping the Nottingham Catchfly.
The trust which runs the castle calls on people to “harness with us the power of plants, wildlife and volunteering by sowing seeds of hope”.
Volunteers will grow the flower at home, before reintroducing the plant to the castle grounds in 2021.
Seed packs will be sent out in May, but due to supplies only one seed pack will be allocated per household.
