Data released by NHS England has revealed the number of people in Nottinghamshire who have died as a result of coronavirus.

The virus has left 225 dead across the three NHS trusts which serve the county.

The brunt of the load has been carried by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, with 213 patients passing away as a result of COVID-19.

Figures from the last few days show a decrease in the number of daily deaths, although it is not yet known whether this will become a consistent trend.

11 patients have died in the care of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, whereas Ramsay Health UK (Nottingham Woodthorpe) has had one death.

These statistics show the latest information on the coronavirus pandemic and include cases up to and including May 3 (Sun).

This comes after Public Health England confirmed 6,530 cases in the East Midlands as of April 29, with a total of 1,565 deaths in the region.
