A police officer stopped a suspected thief in his tracks within just three minutes of receiving a report of a motorhome being stolen from an address in Bilsthorpe.
The officer was travelling along the A617 from Mansfield towards Newark, in response to a seperate report of a vehicle failing to stop, when he noticed a motorhome approaching a junction ahead of him at speed.
He was then alerted by a colleague via radio that a motorhome had just been reported stolen on Monday, May 4 at 2.29am from an address in Bilsthorpe.
He then followed the vehicle which eventually slowed and came to a stop.
Within three minutes, the police officer arrested arrested the driver on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle at 2.32am.
The suspect remains in police custody.
