“Officers illuminated the police vehicle to advise the rider that he had forgotten his helmet, L plates and VRM plate but being keen to socially distance himself from us the rider turned left and shot off upto the top of Northern Court.
“Initially thinking they had lost all chances of stopping the rider as he decided to drive up a pedestrian walkway the rider found himself stuck between the metal chicanes.
“Unable to move forward or backwards on the bike and unable to get off quick enough to run away, the rider found himself detained and his newly purchased bike off to the crusher.”
He added: “I was surprised to see him get caught. As normally they get away!
“I’d say officers were lucky the rider got stuck.”
