Nottinghamshire Police are thanking an ASDA store in Hyson Green for kindly donating outdoor toys and stationary to be given to vulnerable children.
The donations will be gifted to the children as prizes for taking part in the force’s positive engagement scheme competitions.
The scheme is a police led initiative where officers and staff engage and support young people between the ages of 10 and 18 who are socially excluded or involved in crime.
Outreach worker, Romel Davis, who works closely in Policing Youth Department and will be delivering the donated items across Nottinghamshire said: “I would like to thank ASDA for their donation, with these donations we can ensure that lots of vulnerable kids will receive gifts and rewards for taking part in our programme.”
ASDA are keen to encourage children to keep active during these difficult times this year.
Community Champion Heather Turner added: “We are more than happy to help our communities during these difficult times.
“The donations we have given to the police are to keep up the community spirit and encourage children to stay active.”
