Yesterday marked the fourth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower disaster when 72 people lost their lives.

Notts Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Craig Parkin, said: “All colleagues at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service will be reflecting on the 72 people who sadly lost their lives four years ago at the Grenfell Tower fire.

“Our thoughts are also with those affected, as well as the families, friends and communities which continue to be affected by this tragedy.

“We have been working hard within the Service to understand the risks within our communities, ensuring we have the resources, equipment and highly trained Firefighters for any incidents that may happen in high rise buildings.

We have also done a lot of work with our partners and business owners in our local communities to engage with and reassure those living in high rise buildings around Nottinghamshire.”
