Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue have been battling a building fire on Claylands Avenue in Worksop.

Fire crews were on the scene at 11am and were supported by Derbyshire, Leicestershire and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Nottinghamshire Police were also on the scene.

The latest reports indicate that the fire is now out and under control.

At 11am, Nottingham Fire and Rescue tweeted: “We are currently dealing with an ongoing building fire on Claylands Avenue in Worksop.

“We have firefighters on scene, along with support from Derbyshire, Leicestershire and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

“Nottinghamshire Police are also in attendance.”

Two hours later Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue reported the fire had been put out, saying: “The Fire is now out and the road is now back open.

“Crews will re-inspect the scene later today and a Fire Investigation will be carried out later today.”

The Fire Service also attended a fire at Owthorpe Road in Cotgrave at 10am which turned out to be ‘rubbish on fire’.

Fire fighters were able to use one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
