The weather experts have predicted that Nottingham is set to see ‘bands of organised showers’ and ‘heavy’ thunderstorms over the coming days.
The Met office have issued warnings that showers and heavy thunderstorms will spreading from Wednesday night.
The Met Office said: “Although there remains significant uncertainty in location and timing, areas of thunderstorms are expected to move northeast across parts of England and Wales from late Wednesday through to Friday morning.
“Whilst not all locations will be affected, some intense thunderstorms may occur during this period with torrential rain, hail, frequent lightning and strong gusty winds possible.”
Other areas included in the weather warning include: Derby, Derbyshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
The forecasters added: “Generally cloudy on Thursday and Friday, with bands of organised showers pushing north, occasionally heavy and thundery.
“Generally bright or sunny on Saturday, with perhaps the odd shower.”
