A teenager is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit whilst on an e-scooter.

A teenager suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision between an e-scooter and a taxi.

The collision occurred at the junction of Ilkeston Road and Alfreton Road shortly after 2.30am on the 16 June 2021.

The 19-year-old rider was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with leg injuries.

Her condition deteriorated and her injuries were later described as life-threatening.

Detective chief Inspector Nick Waldram, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We were called to reports of a collision in Alfreton Road in the city centre at 2.40am on Wednesday morning.

“A 19-year-old woman was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where her condition has deteriorated.

“The casualty’s next-of kin has been informed.

“An investigation into the cause of the collision is under way. Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 79 of 16 June.”
